Have you seen what TCC PointMan is up to?
TCC Men's Softball is an extension of TCC's PointMan ministry into the Cary/Apex/Holly Springs community. Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) tells us, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Whether it's batting cleanup, having breakfast together, or getting away to the beach for a few days, PointMan's goal is "equipping men to serve others, lead others, love their families and love Jesus." Here's a look at what's coming (have you signed up?):
- October 21st-23rd – TCC POINTMAN MEN'S RETREAT – We're going back to relaxing Fort Caswell on Oak Island for a few days of fellowship, leadership, and discipleship – and maybe a little fishing and poker. Here's a little preview:
Prepare to surrender and win… at the same time! "Surrender" is not something that men naturally aspire to do. In order to win the respect of others, we think that we have to "make it on our own" and convey the impression that everything is fine in our lives. Our modern ideal of masculinity can make it even more difficult to seek and hear from the Lord, because we are tempted to say to him, "I've got this, Lord–I can handle it… watch this!"
Acting within our own power and abilities, we will not grasp the abundant life that God means for us to experience. Ironically, a life of victory and demonstration of God's power begins and continues with our surrender to Him. Without surrender to God, and dependence on Him, all our strength and striving will not amount to much eternal good. We will settle for hollow victories and earthly success and miss the significance and strength that comes from walking humbly with the Lord.
Mark your calendars and sign up now to reserve your spot for this landmark event. You know you want to go; your wife wants you to go and your kids need you to go. If you don't have a wife or kids, that's no excuse not to go. David wasn't married when he lead Israel against its enemies and took down a giant. Paul wasn't married when he braved shipwreck, beatings, and prison to build the early church. God calls MEN, not just married men and fathers.
Don't be THAT guy – you know, the one with good intentions but doesn't follow through. Be the guy who wants to intentionally lead his family toward Christ-likeness. Be a PointMan and sign up now.

Well, Gray managed to stop the skid on Thursday with an 18-6 rout of Crosspointe Gold. But we have a big grudge match coming up against The Bridge on Tuesday night @ 8:45 at Thomas Brooks. They have had our number for the past three seasons and it is time we hand them a loss. GO TCC!!!
